What exactly is a hello tune?+
It's what the other person hears when you call them. Instead of a plain beep, they hear something you chose specifically for them. On Starly you can set a different one for every contact, picked from our library or recorded in your own voice.
Why do you need to verify my number?+
Because you're not joining a list, you're opening your Starly account. One code by SMS proves the number is yours, which is what keeps someone else from taking your place in the queue or farming referrals off numbers they don't own. An email address, if you give one, is just how else we can reach you.
Do I sign up again when the app launches?+
No. Download Starly, sign in with the same number, and everything is already there: your place in the queue, your invite link and everyone you brought in.
How do referrals get counted?+
Every member gets a unique invite link. When someone creates their account through your link and verifies their number, your count goes up instantly and you move further up the queue. There's no target to hit. We open city by city from the front of each queue down, so the more friends you bring in, the sooner it's your turn.
How does the earning programme work?+
It isn't running yet. It's what we're building towards, and it will be entirely opt-in. The idea: if you choose to become a brand ambassador, Starly places short, approved brand messages in your hello tune slot and pays you based on plays, with you controlling which brands appear and which contacts hear them. Rates and payout terms would be shared before you opt in. Nothing is payable for joining the waitlist.
When does Starly launch?+
We're rolling out city by city, invite-first. Waitlist members are contacted in order of rank, so referrals genuinely move you up the queue.
What do you do with my details?+
Your number is your account. The verification code is sent through our SMS provider, MSG91. If you give us an email address, it's only used to reach you and isn't how you sign in. We don't sell any of it and we don't share it with advertisers. Full detail is in our privacy policy.
